Business Development Representative (BDR)
This is not a traditional BDR role.
We are hiring an execution-oriented seller to drive SaaS revenue growth by selling directly to enterprises running production AI systems with substantial monthly LLM spend.
You will own outbound execution and early-to-mid funnel sales, including high-scale cold outreach, running sales conversations independently, and co-selling with the Founder & CEO when helpful. In addition to core SaaS sales, you will help establish partnerships that create leverage and identify opportunities to cross-sell AI consulting services when they accelerate revenue.
This role operates with full company support. SaaS growth is the most important priority, and product, engineering, ops, and leadership will align behind this hire to help you win.
What You’ll Do
- Own outbound execution and pipeline generation
- Sell company API/SaaS to enterprise customers with meaningful LLM spend
- Run sales meetings independently and co-sell with the Founder & CEO as needed
- Engage technical and economic buyers (CTOs, VPs Eng, ML leaders)
- Advance deals from first contact through later-stage conversations
- Iterate messaging rapidly based on live market feedback
- Maintain high-quality documentation in CRM / Linear
Outbound System Ownership (Core Operating Motion)
You are expected to design, stand up, and scale a production-grade outbound system extremely quickly.
- Within the first week, establish a fully operational outbound engine capable of 10,000–50,000 targeted emails per month, using platforms such as Instantly AI (or equivalent) for campaign execution
- Own deliverability, inbox/domain setup, warmup, segmentation, and performance tracking
- Treat each outbound touch as a high-intent, targeted “shot on goal”, not spray-and-pray
- Continuously optimize reply rates, meeting conversion, and pipeline yield
Critical: You are not expected to do this alone. You will actively leverage internal ops, engineering, and automation support to remove setup friction and reach scale fast.
Partnership Setup (~20%)
- Identify and initiate partnerships that expand distribution and pipeline
- Examples: AI infrastructure vendors, devtool ecosystems, agencies/SIs, marketplaces
- Qualify and advance partnerships with leadership support on final structure
AI Consulting Cross-Sell (~10%)
- While SaaS is the primary product, identify opportunities to cross-sell AI consulting services
- Spot consulting triggers during sales cycles (evaluation gaps, production issues, launch blockers)
- Position consulting to accelerate SaaS adoption, revenue, or deal velocity
Month 1 Expectations
- Outbound system fully live and scaling within 1–2 weeks
- High-volume, high-quality outbound execution underway
- 15+ qualified enterprise conversations in progress
- Demonstrated technical credibility with AI buyers
- Clear ICP understanding and refined pitch
- Scalable workflow and cadence established
- Proactive communication of needs, blockers, and optimization opportunities
Month 3+: 20–30+ qualified opportunities per month, consistent SaaS pipeline, repeatable partner motion.
Required Background (Hard Requirements)
- Documented 100%+ quota attainment in EVERY sales role
- AI infrastructure sales experience (LLM tools, MLOps, evaluation, dev/infrastructure)
- Proven ability to stand up outbound systems quickly
- Comfort operating high-scale outbound with modern tooling
- Ability to run technical sales conversations autonomously
- Native-level written and verbal English communication skills
- Bias toward speed, iteration, and execution
- Warm connections in the GenAI/LLM space
Technical Credibility
You must be able to speak confidently about:
- How LLMs work (tokens, context windows, inference, parameters)
- Major providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, AWS Bedrock, Azure)
- Hallucinations: causes, costs, and mitigation
- LLM cost structures and scaling economics
- Production challenges (drift, monitoring, evaluation)
- Competitive landscape (Langfuse, Arize, Braintrust, Helicone, etc.)
